Cute, fun, but broke in 2 days - CA Mom of 2 - CA Mom of 2
This toy was so very cute! My daughter loved it as soon as she opened it on Christmas day. Unfortunately it was broken 2 days later. I know it was inexpensive, but it was very disappointing to have it break THAT quickly. You can just push the toast down and "force" it to pop back up now that it's broken. But when we first got it, you pushed the lever down and the toast popped up with a "ding" when it was "ready." Very cute. I just wish it was a little sturdier. I would have gladly paid more for a toy that would last longer!

This entire Learning Resources line is amazing! I hesitated buying this set at first because it was so expensive. However, it is worth it! The pieces are large, most of them being the size of the real thing. They are not the cheap thin plastic that breaks and smashes easily. They are durable, thick plastic that will definitely last. I have purchased other play food sets and they just pale in comparison. I also like that there aren't any labels or cardboard because those seem to get smashed easily and/or tear. I absolutely love this whole set. So much, in fact, that after I received these, I bought the sandwich set and healthy snacks set as well. Highly recommend!!

I spent so much time searching for a food set that my little girl would love and would be a better value than other sets I have seen. I read the reviews and most of the people loved the product so I took a chance. This food set came today and I was so mad at myself for ordering it. You pay way too much for what you are getting in the set. If I was to do this again I would order the Melissa and Doug sets instead. This set is a huge joke for .00!

My 2 year-old thinks the food is fun! He loves to pretend eat, the life-like strawberries are a big hit, as are the lettuce leaves. I am a little disappointed though. I guess I thought 44 pieces would be a lot more. I don't know that I got my "moneys-worth".

So many play food packages have really, really bad food. This has some good food, fruits and veggies, milk, OJ. We like this collection and the baskets fit magically into our 2 year old's play kitchen. She's still partial to just dumping them all out and scattering them around, but it was still a good purchase.

Fried Egg Not What's Cracked Up to Be - CinciShopper -
I bought this egg for my two-year old daughter, who loves to pretend to cook. It is adorable, however it does not function well and is not durable. Upon arrival it was very difficult for me to open and impossible for her to open. Once opened, she did enjoy putting the felt part of the toy in the pan and "frying" it. One of my older children stepped on the "shell" bending it, so it will not open at all now. She still plays with the felt part, but for almost it is NOT worth the money. I would suggest purchasing a "Melissa & Doug" food item instead.



Nice idea, but impossible to open the egg - April M. Mccoid - Springfield, VA
I loved the idea of a fabric egg that my daughter could pretend to fry up on her play stove.... but this item has a few flaws. Brand new out of the package, the metal egg is very hard to open. It has a shiny white paint that makes it quite difficult for me as the adult to open.... and absolutely impossible for a toddler to get open. And after it IS open, one accidental step will bend the shell.

I was a little disappointed with this toy overall, but the fabric fried egg is still nice.

As stated by the other reviewers, this is one hard egg to crack! Even for adults, I had to really struggle with trying to open the shell to insert the egg. While it is well made, perhaps too much so that it becomes way too difficult to open. The shell is made of a light weight metal and the egg is made from a cotton material. I am thinking of putting some vaseline or ointment around the edges of the egg shell to hopefully help with opening it.

As others have stated, this toy is very durable but nearly impossible to open. I even have trouble. Which for the money for 1 egg it should be better crafted. Haba knows toddlers and preschoolers will be using it... He still like it though and wants to play with it so I did give it 3 stars.

We bought this family along with a "Nursery+Baby" for our daughter's 2nd Christmas. She loves her Ryan's Room toys and carries them around everywhere. The dolls are easily posed. I wish you could mix and match families from the Ryan's Room selection as it would be nice to get different ethnicities without having to purchase such extended families. I'm glad we were able to add a baby to this family as our daughter identifies with that the most. But perhaps smaller sets can be purchased in stores? We highly recommend this company.

My two year old niece loves THE PEOPLE. Auntie loves their hippie look and that each have a lock of hair out of place. The African family will soon be arriving to join them as the house is really too big for one family, one dog, one cat and a bunny!!!



Not what I was looking for - Patricia Kimball -
I work at a treatment center for emotionally disturbed children. I was looking for dolls for play therapy. These looked good because they were not character driven (not something seen on TV like iCarly, Barbie, ... ect) and they had basic family members represented. I also liked them because they had multiple sets representing multiple ethnic groups. When I got them I found out that the bodies were small hard blocks of wood. I did not think this would be good for my purpose so I sent all three sets back. I was disappointed but will keep looking...

Our 4-year old daughter, as well as myself, have a hard time getting the people to stand up. The legs are uneven and fall down easily once they are standing. On the plus side, the limbs are bendable so they can stand or sit. The dining room table is not high enough for the peoples' legs to fit underneath so it is kind of akward.
